In this post, I'm going to share lots of photos especially from the time I visited teamLab Borderless in Odaiba, Tokyo.
Before we get excited about the photos, I must let you know that I preplanned and prebooked the tickets from their website to visit this exhibition on a fixed date. If you are keen to pay a visit in the future, make sure you do the same. Otherwise, the chance of you getting a ticket and to get in on the spot is slim to none.
So let us jump straight to Odaiba, Tokyo Teleport Station.

I find most of us from the city will come and go from this station, so it is easier to just navigate from here. Once you get off, there will be quite a lengthy walking distance to the exhibition.
First, we head straight to the Megaweb Toyota museum. When you're in, look for the exit to the ferris wheel (Ride Studio).
At the exit, you shall see signs leading you to the exhibition.
There are lots of interesting stuff here to see, shop and eat but sadly we didn't had the time to explore back then. Will be back here the next time, as well as for the Megaweb Toyota City Showcase (メガウェブ トヨタ シティ ショウケース) - which is free for all to visit.
I'll not give out much details but hopefully just enough for you not to missed out on what you want to see. There are so many rooms / sections
that you can explore but you may also miss some if you are not wary.
You'll need to wander, explore and discover yourself - literally. 🕵🏻♂️🕵🏻♀️
Some of them like the Forest of Flowers and Crystal World have more than a couple of entryways that may either lead you to a walkway or to a hidden room.
I reckon all of us can take very nice photos here in Crystal World and this is also the only place you can download the app and trigger it from here. There are a few animations that you can select to make the LED do its thing
.
It is a little bit like a mirror maze inside here. You could get in from one end and get out from another. 🥴
Forest of Resonating Lamps is the most popular, that almost always has the longest queue (we waited almost an hour long) but also a little difficult to spot where it is. You will need to go up an escalator to reach this small room.
Yep, sorry to disappoint you (and myself), it is pretty small and you will be visiting in a group of maybe 10-15 people and only for roughly 2-3 minutes each time - when there are many visitors of course. The rule may be looser when there isn't many visitors.
There are hidden rest rooms with drinking water supply, lockers and toilets. Also where you can find a map to plan of where you can visit next.
There are also two areas where you can color and upload the arts digitally into the background. You will first need to pick a paper / drawing with your selected object on and color it and later submit the paper to the personnel to scan your artwork in.
You will walk a lot inside and easily spend 2-3 hours there. Though mostly just there to enjoy digital arts visually, still I do think it is worth the time and money spent.
The ticket price is 3,200 yen ($29.76) and you can add on the EN TEA HOUSE Tea Ticket for 500 yen ($4.65). I didn't get the add-on because I'm not into tea. You should be able to also grab a cup there without preordering when you find it interesting - which I didn't quite and has plan for something else over the day already.
I'll admit that I've been here at least three times prior to this. Though you may think this statue has all the glory but you could be wrong.
Before leaving Odaiba you will want to pay this Life Size Gundam a visit.
There is this hidden gem right inside the entrance behind this Gundam for me. Going into the mall or what's behind this Gundam is a food court and within, around a corner there will be a Tsukemen (つけ麺) or simply dipping ramen noodles
stall.
I have no photo evidence (because I always finished it before I remember to take any photo 😬), but I assure you it is DA BOMB. It is afforable, it is filling, and taste really goooodddddd. I'll post a photo when I get one in the future.
From Tokyo Teleport Station, we will make our way to Shibuya Station and walk roughly 15 minutes to reach this owl cafe.
At the time of this posting, I found lots and lots of new owl cafes popping up all around Tokyo. However on 2018, there wasn't many owl cafes for us to visit where the owls are all free to run and fly around the cafe while we sit and enjoy our drinks and for sure, taking photos of and with these lovely birds.
The pricing system is pretty simple. You will get a choice between 30 minutes slot at 1,500 yen ($13.95) or 1 hour slot at 2,500 yen ($23.25). Both come with a drink and you can top up 200 yen ($1.86) for alcoholic beverage.

Do remember to use their coupon from the website for a discount on weekday visits.
One single rule you will be pointed out is that visitors should not take any photos with the flash on.
Already got a hint why we're here?
Because FattyBonbon wants to and also there is this cute, yellow eyes, round white, snowy owl named Sea-chan that looks like the owl in Harry Potter - Hedwig, but much cuter.
Izakaya can be found just about anywhere in Japan at night. You will want to try out not one, but a few of them.
Most izakayas will offer a wide range of food and snacks while some may focus on serving either seafood or chicken skewers / Yakitori (焼き鳥).
And you'll learn to drink Whiskey Highball just like a Japanese. 🍻😏
Also you may find Japanese enjoy izakaya much better than us. They will sit, chit-chat, order maybe 2 dishes and some drinks. Order more as they go. While we, order everything we could in one go - like a maniac.
